Student Help and Support

Students at the UNM School of Engineering receive academic advisement, professional development advice, and community building experiences through Engineering Student Services, located in the Centennial Engineering Center, Room 2080.

Talk to an advisor to: Make a successful transition from high school to college Learn about admission requirements Receive ongoing academic and professional development support.	Scholarship staff are here to help! See scholarships for incoming freshmen, undergraduate students, and graduate students from federal, private or corporate funding sources.	Get a *paid* summer internship with faculty on research projects at a local high tech company or an engineering firm at Sandia or Los Alamos National Labs or at a state agency.

 

Recruitment Activities

The ESS team, as well as School of Engineering faculty and advisors, conduct recruiting activities to build a pipeline to get more students into technical fields. The recruiting and outreach process starts with the very youngest learners and extends through high school. These activities include:

• making presentations for elementary, middle and high school students;
• helping with science fairs
• attending high school college fairs
• coordinating the School of Engineering's annual open house
