Engineering in Action planned Dec. 4 on ‘New Complexities of the AI Revolution’

The third installment of the School of Engineering’s new virtual speaker series “Engineering in Action: How our innovation is impacting our community” will be held at 3 p.m. December 4 on Zoom.
The topic will be “New Complexities of the AI Revolution: Robots, Video Games, and Drugs.” It will be presented by Lydia Tapia, associate professor of computer science, and will explore how artificial intelligence is changing the way we live and how UNM is addressing some of the challenges to this emerging technology.
Previous topics of Engineering in Action have included drones used in our research and the School’s effort to produce 3D-printed masks for frontline workers. Additional topics will be announced for 2021.
